The overall purpose is to help you become aware of the actions at work you can take on a (daily) basis to improve the environment we all live in. While performing the Tasks, one by one, you will become more eco-friendly just like that. You can also “spread the word” and give the link to your colleagues, or transfer what you have learned into a private context to start together a bigger change.

No, you can choose where to start and you can work on the Tasks from several Missions at the same time.

No, you can choose them on an ad hoc basis but notice that some of them are interconnected or sometimes easier Tasks help you to prepare for the more difficult ones.

It is up to you, really. You can stop or take a break at any time. You will be stopped from marking all task as done in one day - but who would like to cheat on himself or herself anyway?!

Just click on a link and with the right button on your mouse select “open in a new tab”. Remember that you can always use the “back button” to return to your task within the tab.

We tried to provide as much information, data and examples as possible in English, still we decided to leave some of the links leading to sources in other languages if the content was extremely valuable - please use a web translator to enjoy them, or search for alternative information in your language on the sustainable search platform ecosia (https://www.ecosia.org/.), for example.

This is a web app, so we won't send you push notifications, but we have a simple solution to your problem: set yourself reminders in your smartphone timer or calendar. That way you will be reminded and stay in the game.

You can complete up to 5 Tasks per day.

You can take as long as you need. It may take you at least 1 month to complete all Tasks. And even longer to develop new habits.

Yes, there are a few quests that you need to complete several times in a row to complete them. These Tasks are marked with progress dots on the scoring.

The entire Gamification includes a total of 96 Tasks (+14 leadership Tasks). The Gamification consists of five Missions that concern our behavior at work: 1) “Energize Tomorrow, Conserve Today: Unleash the Power of Reduction!”, (4 challenges, 17 tasks); 2) “Waste is Money - No Time to Waste!”, (3 challenges, 20 tasks); 3) “Workvolution: Transform the way we work and boost productivity” (3 challenges, 18 tasks); 4) “Shift from Linear to Circular Economy!”, (4 challenges, 20 tasks); 5) “Sustainable Navigator: Cruising through the Mobility Mission - Craft the Greenest Future of Transport!” (4 challenges, 21 tasks), and one leadership mission, which is exclusively available only for managers. However, anyone can view the tasks, even if you are not a manager 6) “Leadership Legacy: Forging the Future of Business” (3 challenges, 13 tasks)

You automatically have access to the leadership mission after creating an account so that you can complete the tasks in it. If you invite your co-workers to also participate in gamification, they will have the status of "co-worker" in your team and will be able to see the tasks of the leadership mission, but will not be able to complete them.

The Shift2Green webapp was created as part of the Erasmus project Shift2Green- Promoting Eco-friendly Habits at Work with Gamification. The project team from Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, Austria and Lithuania developed the WebApp together in 2024. In addition, the project developed a Shift2Green Guidance Tool for educators and SME managers, which illustrates the green transformation with real-life examples and guidelines on how they can use digital tools to support the change. Your progress is indicated as a percentage in each mission on a pie chart. You can also see the progress on ranking lists. There are one general ranking list, which shows your rank based on the points achieved so far in missions 1-5, compared to all other players in the gamification; one ranking list, which shows your rank based on the points achieved so far in missions 1-5, within your team; and one ranking list, which only compares the leaders, based on the points achieved so far in the 6th leadership mission.

Only leaders can complete the leadership mission 6. If you have been invited to gamification as a team member by your manager, you are able to see the tasks but are unable to mark them as completed. Don't worry though - these are all tasks for your manager and the points he/she achieves here do not count towards the regular points basis in the ranking lists.

Under each task you have the opportunity to write a comment on it. Share your experiences or tips with other players. But please note that your comment will be visible to all Shift2Green Gamification players. So please avoid posting personal, sensitive or inappropriate data.

The idea is that the manager invites his/her co-workers to join his/her team. You cannot add yourself to a team. And it is not possible to invite an existing account to a team. In this case, the account (and thus unfortunately also previously completed tasks and challenges) would first have to be deleted and then a new account belonging to the team would have to be created via the invitation email.

It is best to look at the right hand corner at the bell icon and complete the tasks you have started that demand repetition; the reminders are there, at the bell icon.
